Star Fox is an arcade style rail shooter and third person action-adventure video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto, produced and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo System, partially inspired by the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine, which is close to Nintendo’s headquarters.

The games follow the Star Fox combat team of anthropomorphic animals, led by chief protagonist Fox McCloud.

It was an historic release by Nintendo not only as its first intellectual property in a while, but also the game introduced new technology that increased Super Nintendo graphical capacity without being a hassle for players with the Super FX chip, a 3D graphics chip included in the cartridge which enabled the SNES to produce polygonal graphics and making it Nintendofirst serious forray at graphics details on a game.
