It was speculated that Knuckles The Echidna would land his own production after his welcomed acceptance in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (The Movie) and Paramount indeed did not waste any time and yet another exclusive Paramount+ content.

Sega confirmed that production of Knuckles, a dedicated TV series surrounding the famous Echidna from Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, has started production in London and will have Jeff Fowler once again as director.

The events of the series will happen between the timeline of the second and third movie of Sonic The Hedgehog and probably will serve to bridge the gap to avoid any plot hole without being filled in the third movie.

Confirmed staff includes actor Idris Elba reprising his voice as Knuckles and Adam Pally, who played police officer Wade Whipple in both movies, will return and it is scheduled to have a major role in the series.

The synopsis of the series says that the focus of the story is Knuckles agreeing to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

The show will also star Edi Patterson (Knives Out), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up) and UK comedian Ellie Taylor in recurring roles.

Guest stars will include Rory McCann (Hound in Game of Thrones) and Tika Sumpter, who will reprise her role as Maddie from the Sonic movies.
