Despite being slated as the next big thing for Playstation and Virtual Reality, things reportedly has not been looking good for the Playstation VR 2 or PSVR2 as sales were not as big as Sony expect to be and now, for those who wanted to check physically the VR headset before buying, soon will be the time.

Sony has confirmed that retail availability outside the PS Store of the PSVR2, but is up to you to ”Check your local retailer for availability”.

Different from the experience with the original Playstation VR, instead of going with retailers, Sony decided to control every aspect of the initial sales of the PSVR2, pretty much as a late effect of the semiconductor shortage that plagued from 2021 to late 2022.

There were reports that said that PSVR2 was under Sony’s expectations of selling and below the 300K sold units as per a Bloomberg article, despite support for 3rd parties gaming studios.
