Late last week was a hard one as another gaming studio is about to fold without giving new more content and we are talking about PixelOpus, a Playstation Studios member that will end operation soon.

Sony acknowledged to IGN last week that news about Playstation Studios member PixelOpus being shutdown effective June 2.

“PlayStation Studios regularly evaluates its portfolio and the status of studio projects to ensure they meet the organization’s short and long-term strategic objectives.

As part of a recent review process, it has been decided that PixelOpus will close on June 2.”

PixelOpus announced last week that it was shutting down without explaining what went wrong and how they landed on the cut radar of Sony and Playstaiton.

The latest news of the studios dates ironically June 2021 where it was revealed that it was working with a Sony Pictures Animation project using Unreal Engine 5, but no further elaboration was given or the status of the project since then.
