If there is a Microsoft Graveyard as like the Google Graveyard, the new tombstone that will be set on September 14th 2023, will be Xbox Live Gold, the first subscription that Microsoft ever gave to Xbox to allow multiplayer and later, monthly free claimable games as long as you kept subscribed.

Microsoft announced that we will see Xbox Live Gold From November 2002 to September 2023 as it was suggested during the weekend.

Basically, with the retirement of the Xbox Live Gold, a new tier of Xbox Game Pass will be launched as Game Pass Core.

Game Pass Core will include  offer subscribers access to Xbox multiplayer gaming, a library of over 25 games and exclusive member deals, but effectively, the end of games claimable for free so August is the last month and I hope that Microsoft close with a banger, but since stopping offering Xbox 360 games, I have a serious lack of faith.

As it is with the other tiers, Xbox Game Pass Core catalog will see circulation of games being retired in favor of newcomers and/or returners.

For now, the debuting games catalog for Game Pass Core will include:

  • Among Us
  • Descenders
  • Dishonored 2
  • Doom Eternal
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Grounded
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Inside
  • Ori & The Will of the Wisps
  • Psychonauts 2
  • State of Decay 2
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

And of course, Players will continue to be able to access any Xbox One and Xbox 360 games they previously redeemed through Games with Gold if they remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member.
