Obviously not sitting idle as AMD practically refreshed the powerful member of Ryzen 7 Zen 3 family to go on par or maybe more than the Ryzen 9, Intel decided it was time to refresh the Intel Core i9 to give a proper boost.
The Intel Core i9-12900KS is billed as more powerful than the original i9 12th gen as it can clock at 5.5GhZ as maximum booster thanks to being factory unlocked aka as “authorized” overclocking for people demanding the most powerful computing force as physically as possible.
People that already built PCs with current Motherboards are not to worry if you have the extra cash (MSRP - $739), as your architecture is the same as the now entry i9 12th gen Intel Core and same physical specs (24 threads and 30MB of L3 cache memory).
Be aware that the main big difference between the two i9 is that the new i9-12900KS requires 150W of your PC power, especially to use it overcooked.
For anyone interested, Intel said that the new Intel Core i9 will be released by April 5 so competition got interested as AMD will launch that week more entry-level of Ryzen Zen 3 family and the new top tier Ryzen 7 58003DX by end of the month.
