We are about to see the repercussions of the United Kingdom giving its thumbs down on the Activision Blizzard buyout by Microsoft, but just another country gave its approval while Microsoft is giving more counter facts against the Cloud Gaming “dominance” narrative.
Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee announced early today that is has given the OK to Microsoft and defintely a BIG contrast against UK CMA’s denial.
While Ukraine unfortunately has better things to worry about including Russia trying to invade them, the reason that there are no actual gaming services including Cloud Gaming, pretty much left no legal stand to oppose the buyout.
A New Cloud Gaming deal if allowed to buy
Along with the Ukraine watch dogs announcement, Microsoft has announced another game distribution agreement designed to allay regulatory concerns over its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
This time is with Nware, a Spanish cloud gaming platform.
For this deal, Nware will have a 10 year guarantee that the service will be able to stream PC games under the Xbox brands as well as games from Activision Blizzard.
“While it’s still early for the emerging cloud segment in gaming, this new partnership combined with our other recent commitments will make more popular games available on more cloud game streaming services than they are today.”
-Brad Smith, Microsoft President
