Remember when we mentioned this week that The Verge managed to activate a preview for Ray Tracing support for the Xbox Series X version of Minecraft but had an unusual way of getting accessible?
Well the reason that it was weirdly not too easy to activate is because it was NOT supposed to be on the game anyways.
Microsoft and Mojang confirmed that the preview was not supposed to be included on the recent Preview for the next update of Minecraft and a patch was released that deleted the Ray Tracing functionality that as per The Verge, was very limited.
The previous Minecraft Preview build available to Xbox Insiders inadvertently included prototype code for raytracing support on Xbox consoles. This early prototype code has been removed from Preview and doesn't signal near future plans to bring raytracing support to consoles.

Unfortunately, Mojang did not give any false hope for people as as the previous tweet states, ray tracing at Minecraft in console, is not on queue for improvement any time soon.
