Another game that has transcended more than one generation like Grand Theft Auto V did, it is Mojang’s (now Xbox Game Studio member) Minecraft and improvements to be as contemporary as possible have gone hand in hand.

The current generation is no exception and The Verge has tested a Preview Build of the new version of Minecraft, particularly for Xbox Series S/X with support to ray tracing although it is not full-force.

For some reason the support cannot be activated seamlessly and needs to be prompted if somebody from PC invites you to a game and THEN that is when the option appears for you.

While limited, the ray tracing is most noticeable in water reflections or shadows within Minecraft, or through the additional detail in texture packs as per The Verge’s testing.
