Is normal that news like the Unreal Engine 5 might not attract many immediate announcements when barely studios are getting their hands on the finished product to begin working on theirs, but there are some exceptions like CD Projekt Red a few days ago.
Now, there is a second AAA studio that announced a AAA game built entirely on Unreal Engine 5 in itś entirely and it is the next installment of Tomb Raider.
Crystal Dynamics confirmed that the game is beginning its development cycle but no major details were offered as probably things are just starting.
Crystal Dynamics is incredibly excited about the future of Unreal and how it will help us take our storytelling to the next level. That's why we're proud to announce that our next #tombraider game is being built on Unreal Engine 5! pic.twitter.com/UFMiWzJAZc

After becoming a subsidiary of Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics began retelling the story of Tomb Raider away from their classic 90’s and early 2000’s games and rebooted the series with Lara Croft’s alternate origin story with 2013’s Tomb Raider, followed by Rise Of The Tomb Raider and finally Shadow Of The Tomb Raider.
