It has been rocky days for DICE and Electronic Arts with the unexpected problems that Battlefield 2042 are still facing these days and the lack of features that one will be expecting on games launched in this decade.
And while many things are still missing, it was kind of incredible that voice chat or VoIP was ONE OF THE FEATURES that were missing from launch and it was onPatch 0.4.0,, APRIL 2022, THAT DICE FINALLY ACTIVATED IT.
The Patch also added a working scoreboard to the end-of-game results section, a feature that is a must-have in day one and it was always a thing that worked “when it wanted to work”.
Everything else in this patch includes:
- Balance adjustments to Specialists such as updated Traits for Rao and Paik, and improvements to Sundance’s Specialty, with a focus on their Anti-Armor Grenades being more effective against targets in their immediate vicinity
- Vehicle balance changes such as making the M5C Bolte’s passengers easier to target, and a reduction in power for its Missile Launcher
- Fixes for being unable to ADS after exiting a vehicle, or being unable to revive players near objects
- Improved Ribbons and XP Events to make them easier to unlock across modes
