For some this new update on the SteamOS for Steam Deck (based on Arch Linux) might seem small but it is really important that the Steam Deck needs basic functionality that probably would have been better to have on day one, but better late than never.
One of the improvements that Valve announced with Monday's update that began deploying since then is a lock screen.
For those wanting privacy and knowing they are in a safe place to leave Steam Deck in idle, you can lock the screen with a secret PIN number and you can apply it on wake, boot, login, or when switching to desktop mode.
Other improvements are in the UI where you can switch windows and now hop back and forth between different games or web pages.
Notable thing of the changelog is an improvement achievement page where the section now loads faster and is easier to navigate.
Finally, Steam Deck now has 21 new languages and layouts to the keyboards section of the Steam Deck, with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean keyboards coming in the future.
