Duke Nukem has some ups and downs in its history and unfortunately the downs have been recent as the legendary Duke Nukem Forever was “remake” for just the past generation of gaming to achieve negative opinions.
The truth is that the game was in development and was supposed to be launched at the turn of the new millennium and just a demo back in 1998 was the only thing we saw.
That is until now, because at 4chan (via Duke4), it was revealed that somebody got all the 2001 E3 demo of Duke Nukem Forever,
The lucky gamer got a hold of videos and images that were used to promote the game, including the editor and source code for this version of the game, that includes empty areas where you can explore and some levels with enemies.
This is the same source code that was later repurposed for the 2011’s Duke Nukem Forever launch.
It was confirmed that it will be released to the public soon for everybody to try out and maybe a taste of what could have been a great Playstation 2/ Xbox game.
