While the future of the publishing rights of The Lord Of The Rings movies might be in game for an immediate future, Electronic Arts is holding the game publishing rights and finally we got some news.

Electronic Arts announced that their Galaxy Of Heroes Studios is developing a new game called The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth.

The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth will feature immersive storytelling, turn-based combat, deep collection systems, and a wide roster of characters from across the vast universe of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Players battle through iconic stories from the world of Tolkien and take up the fight against the great evils of Middle-earth.

Despite being the first Lord Of The Rings game in quite some time by EA, it is not a console/PC game, but rather a mobile game and it will begin as a limited, regional beta test this summer with more details coming soon.
