When Facebook reorganized to be a subsidiary for a new parent company named Meta Platforms as video, AR and VR fusioned with the Internet (a mix that is defined as metaverse) will be their main business along with Oculus, they took it REALLY seriously.

So seriously that Mark Zuckerberg was ok with the past earnings came saying that this past fiscal year, Meta just spent and lost $10 billion on the reorganization and it is all part of the plan.

As you can see above, Meta announced today what is Project Cambria, a high-end virtual reality headset capable of doing high-resolution, full-color passthrough so that wearers can interact with virtual objects overlaid onto their real-life environments.

Details were not broad and actually, the prototype is blurred in the video, so it is not sure if the final product will be under Oculus brand or probably will see a new brand as Apple do with Beats but either way launches their own branded audio devices.

But probably is Oculus brand bolund as Meta confirmed that will update the Oculus SDK next week to have the full set of Presence Platform tools powered by machine perception and AI Passthrough, Spatial Anchors, Scene, Interaction and Voice SDKs, and finally an update of the  Hand Tracking API.
