For me, nowadays Konami isn't ⅓ of the classic Konami that many of us grew and became fans of. The Japanese studio nonetheless had pretty awesomes IP, including Bomberman which remains an historic character of video games.

But unfortunately, even his legendary status, cannot help when economic pressure forces things to come to an end and that's what is going to happen to Super Bomberman R Online.

Without entering on details on what the "various circumstances" are about, Konami announced that Super Bomberman R Online will no longer be able to sell you Bomber Coins and Premium Packs as of today June 1st and the service will be disconnected on December 1 along with the disappearance of the game in store fronts where the game is available.

In other words, the game will stop functioning if you have it installed and special case of Stadia, the game will just go away from your library.

The free-to-play online multiplayer game based on the original Super Bomberman R was originally released in 2020 as a Google Stadia exclusive, but then came to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on May 27, 2021.

An easy speculation is that the free-to-play formula and being on multiple platforms might not be enough for a revenue that Konami probably was expecting and decided that it was not just worthy of maintaining servers that were not paying themselves.
