As an exclusive content for IGN, Sega finally released the first full trailer for Sonic's newest main game called Sonic Frontiers in which it is obvious that an Open World will be the main feature for a Sonic game.

The trailer shows Sonic running through vast grassy plains as a relaxing piano tune plays in the background.

Clearly, Sonic Team Japan wanted to show us that we are getting unfamiliar mechanics with Sonic, including slow-motion action that probably would need a combination of buttons to be pressed before time's up.

It has been confirmed that the story of Sonic Frontier is an original one, not based on the classic lore and it was written by Ian Flynn, known for writing episodes of Sonic Boom (to be honest, this TV series is my unfavorite Sonic show, LOL).

Sonic Frontiers is currently being developed for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and is available for pre-order now.
