While Microsoft still needs to face a non-tech-growth-friendly FTC to buy ACtivision Blizzard, we are already seeing the effect on the potential buyout for having Activision, Blizzard and their respective inner studios join Microsoft.

After running a closed Beta since last month, it took many by surprise that Blizzard Entertainment confirmed via Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase that Overwatch 2 WILL NOT BE ON SALE and the base game will be free-to-play.

Obviously there will be microtransactions but this was actually a pleasant surprise as the game is going to be released on Early Access on October 4th.

Enter new hero

Blizzard also presented a new Overwatch original hero for Overwatch 2 called The Junker Queen, the second original character announced after SoJourn.

Junker Queen will be the newest tank and will have a single-barrel shotgun and an ax as her weapon.
