A few weeks back we reported that Playstation Productions was finishing up The Last Of Us first season as an HBO Max exclusive, a God Of War TV series for Amazon Prime Video, a Horizon Zero Dawn TV Series for Netflix and finally, a Gran Turismo production that was not revealed where it was headed.

But if Deadline sources are right (normally they are and hence my chances on reporting on rumors), Sony would have instructed Playstation Studios to develop Gran Turismo as an original movie, ready to be shown in theaters.

There is also a leaked sypsonis that goes as follow:

"Based on a true story, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver."

So, people with knowledge on the Gran Turismo eSport community can pinpoint me or maybe know who the movie is based on.

When the announcement gets official, we can expect an August 11th, 2023 release.
