Yes, I admit that my “this went under my radar” metrics are at positive which is not good, but nevertheless, I prefer to say that I just got a notion later than never as I originally started as a simulcast that included Facebook Gaming.
Meta announced last week that they were upgrading their incentive to creators that includes Facebook, Instagram and Facebook Gaming, indicating full revenue directly for content creators.
In a simple way and for Facebook Gaming that is what our attention is, as a content creator and streamer, every subscription, donations (Stars in the Level Up program) will be 100%, no cuts for Meta until 2024.
Originally, this incentive was aimed to assist content creators active on Facebook and were impacted during the pandemic between 2020 and 2021 and it is nice to see that the effective date was expanded 2 more years.
If you never streamed to Facebook Gaming, the pro versus Twitch and maybe YouTube is that Facebook manages its own algorithm and makes more chances to be discoverable while the challenge really is achieving long term engagement and getting repeated viewers in your content.
To monetize with donations as minimum, you need to be eligible for the Level Up Program and to do that, obviously you need a FB Page marked as a Video Game Content Creator Page, stream at least 2 days in a 14 days period and have at least 4 hours within the same period and finally (when invited) accept terms & conditions.
