It has been 12 years since the launch of Skate 3 and we knew that Electronic Arts had been working on the next proper Skate game for a while and a Pre-pre-pre Alpha was announced recently, but that is not all.
Electronic Arts announced today that the game will not go as Skate 4 but simply as Skate or a reboot for the franchise and that it will be Free-To-Play at launch.
The obvious thing to say is that EA will be having microtransactions included on the game as a proper way to monetize the game and will have a big emphasis on cosmetic and convenience which whatever that means if I was not to speculate that is a sweet way to say pay-to-win.
The game is still in early development, but don't worry about choosing between Playstation, Xbox or PC as the game will have cross-play and cross-progression on all platforms.
Still, there is no release date for the game yet as development is not advanced enough for talking about release at all.
