While no timeline was given, evidently Sony is in no rush for the PSVR 2 if they want their next virtual reality gear to really differentiate from its predecessor and the Playstation maker got ready to tell us how things are going with development.

Sony decided to publish what is going on recently with the Playstation VR 2 or simply PSVR 2 and no, there is no release date yet but definitely it was sold as the wait will be compensating itself.

The first thing and very uncommon to hear is that the hardware fo the PSVR2 will support a SeeThrough View confirmed, where there is no need for the user to take the headset off to see your surroundings and practically all gaming fails/rage videos that you can see on the Internet, you can expect why this was an important aspect for Sony.

Also, Sony is thinking on streamers that will use PSVR 2 (and is a growing niche by the way) and there will be a new broadcast feature that could require the unlaunched PS5 HD Camera.

Things got interesting when Sony revealed that you can customize the play area via a smart scanning of the user's room that allows you to set boundaries and avoid hitting your furniture or avoiding accidents with a wall of your room and all known hazards of playing VR games without proper cautions.

Finally, PSVR 2 games will have a VR & cinematic mode and the main difference between the two is that in Cinematic Mode, players can view the PS5 system and UI and all non-VR game and media content on a virtual cinema screen. Content in Cinematic Mode will be displayed in 1920×1080 HDR video format with 24/60Hz and also 120Hz frame rate.

As with the public release date, there was NO developers testing/SDK release date but Sony claims that developers' invitations will be sent out in the near future, with the promise that a public release date will be also shared soon.
