After weeks of speculation, finally it did happen as Sony could keep absorbing selling Playstation 5 as negative and the inflation increasing the negative and with this, some markets are expected to see a price increase.
With the notable exception of the United States, Sony confirmed that the markets of Europe Zone, United Kingdom, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico and Canada will see the PS5 more expensive for new buyers.
Sony justified the move as a response to the "global economic environment" that understandably, have the inflation and semiconductor shortage that while being better than last year, still persists and is forecasted to last in 2023.
All this means manufacturing cost to grow and yes, as a company you need to lower your losses to assure some positives as a best scenario.
While it was not revealed why the United States is not affected was not revealed but, we can suppose that being on of the top markets for gaming in general, probably Sony won't risk more resistance of people that still doesn't see a game with the "it" factor to buy a Playstation 5, heading to its second anniversary.
