  • Makers of Dolphin, a popular #Nintendo Gamecube & Wii emulator, has given up on have it launched on Steam after being unable to reach an agreement with Valve, who are already limited due a DMCA by Nintendo.

Historically, Nintendo sees emulation as illegal.

  • I did a misfit thing this week and... I did NOT renewed Nintendo Switch Online.

Honestly I had been paying for the last 4 years and I barely touched NES catalog and to be completely transparent I renewed collecting Master Lists from Nintendo old consoles, so no point renewing.

Yes, I know that I am actually fueling Nintendo rationale against emulation, but this self-entitlement on gaming history preservation behind a paywall needs to be address..

...And also I can still play Overwatch 2!

  • For the past few years, Nintendo has felt entitled to take the lead against the emulation community, along with keeping many of its products under lock and key and it seems some are already upset.

An organization known for maintaining the history of video games, the Video Game History Foundation, indicated that they regret that Nintendo is in the process of closing the Nintendo 3DS stores and both the Wii and Wii U without giving opportunity to maintenance and access to efforts such as those What do you do to preserve history?

Without underestimating the commercial reasons, the lack of ethics is questioned and that Nintendo is closing opportunities for institutions to contribute to the history of video games.

The death blow is to remind the public that both the organization and Nintendo ARE active members of the Entertainment Software Association and publicly urged the ESA and its members to reflect on these decisions.

I hope this has an effect.
