• Six months already & every time I read this I feel so embarrassed on how Google let Phil Harrison handle things on Stadia, when he could not handle Playstation 3,Xbox 360, Atari & Gaikai.

9to5Google: Hideo Kojima wanted to be a big Stadia partner
Honestly there is no much to talk of Stadia as there are no more positive news and all the contrary, I seen in social media how gaming publishers and developers practically needs to make some loses, and in worst-case, studios that were preparing to have Stadia as their main income as proposed games now needs to be redeveloped for other platforms if the change is viable that is. But I cannot...

  • Sometimes Google Stadia makes it difficult to be a promoter, seems that they still like to build hype for nothing and makes me think that they marketing department is run by interns or just Phil Harrison believing entrepreneurship first, gamers later.

    Kinda upsetting day.

And yes, I know that I am guilty to have hopes high and I am the effect of their cause, can't help it because I STILL GOT GOOD FAITH ON STADIA, like I said I wouldn't be investing more games and already bought Final Fantasy XV & Dragon Ball Z Kakarot this past weekend with Google Play Credit via Amazon Gift Card balance.

  • In what was already something that may have been suspected from the start, Sony has confirmed that it has acquired Haven Studios, the studio that was founded by veteran Jade Raymond following her unceremonial departure from Google's Stadia Games & Entertainment when it unexpectedly closed. .

They are known to be developing their first AAA multiplayer game and feature veterans from the in-house studios that Google had acquired for Stadia.

Sony had made an earlier investment to earn it as a Playstation exclusive.

In my opinion, it's a good "Good morning and middle finger" from Jade Raymond to Phil Harrison and I'm glad.

  • My take on the Stadia semi-surprising news is that this is another missed-hit in the career of Phil Harrison and Google main failure besides consistency, more enterprise thinking was TRYING to think what gamers needs/wants instead of DIRECTLY listening to gamers.

Game-as-a-service is the future and Google proved that it is possible, but better people needed to steer that ship.

This is not the final chapter of Stadia, but I get the feeling that the hey-day is gone and the next good season probably is a long ass time away from us as I don’t have doubts that Google might try to have traction for Stadia Pro and specially Founders Edition members.

And for the haters… This is NOT Stadia dying, repurposing a main goal of a project is normal when there are more opportunities and yes, consumers are no longer a constant hit and the terms used in the reports is just the coloring of the information.

About Stadia failing their user retention of 2021 by 25% are not bad numbers considering how many people said that “nobody was playing”, but I guess this is why Google ran an open feedback for consumers to express themselves.

I am eager to read/hear what Google had to say about this report.
