It is incredible that fandom can be this toxic in 2022 as many Playstation fanboys decided to attack Hideo Kojima, claiming that he should not have gone to Xbox for a new game and all the negativity that you can imagine.

Believing it was necessary (IMO WAS NOT), Hideo Kojima assured that Kojima Productions and Sony are not at odds and there was no bad faith related to yesterday's announcement that he began working on an Xbox exclusive game.

I don't know how people forgot that an investment is NOT a contract of full fidelity as I believe the confusion was partly to blame.

Death Stranding is an exclusive for Playstation, Kojima Productions IS NOT.

As a company that needs revenue, Kojima Productions should not reject any non-permanent engaging offer and it is really probable that Hideo Kojima desires that KP remains independent and not affiliated to any platform.

A reminder…

Probably the "new game" was the same one the he apparently offered to Google for Stadia Games & Entertainment and hence, a Stadia exclusive but according to rumors, Phil Harrison rejected the mechanics of the game (episodic esque TellTale Games) and on the other hand, Sony probably pushed too far the Kojima Productions and Konami joint venture, knowing their turbulent past as Kojima was ousted of his VP position in Konami and a systematic process that ended him being forced to leave Konami, all because Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain failed to be within budget.
