  • In a sad and surprising move, Theta Labs confirmed that it will wind-down #ThetaTV to be from a streaming alternative to just a single channel to promote the $THETA Blockchain which curates decentralized CDN & Video API.

Streamers and users that have been paid with TFuel crypto and NFT via content consumption/production, needs to transfer balances to their $TDROP wallet by Tuesday, September 19 and it is also the final day for Theta TV being available to stream content.
Theta Labs justified the move as a way to "further distinguish their identity as the leading Web3 blockchain infrastructure for video streaming, media and entertainment" and wanted to kill the misconception that Theta TV was a perpetual Twitch/YouTube alternative.

While they call it a misconception, I always rooted for the Twitch alternative that for years creators needed, regardless crypto or not.

Theta TV was a pet project to showcase the capacity of the Theta Blockchain which brings decentralized CDN and Video processing via nodes validators and special nodes sponsored/setup by partners that included big players Google, Samsung and Sony.

By the end of the month, all accounts on Theta TV will be deleted regardless of whether the user withdrew their assets or not.

  • Twitch is WAY DISCONNECTED with its community...

Pretty much telling you WHAT sources to include in your screens & limiting to 3% of screen size your logos.

Last time I checked, having sources is the way to cross-promote yourself & brands supporting you.

  • I was redacting the League Of Legends's LCS situation but, Rio Games has backpedaled an early decision that LCS organizations would have been required to field an NACL team by mandate.

Teams were already announcing walking out of the NA tournament taking place on June 1st as they saw the requirement intrusive and were NOT discussed in anyways with them.

Remains to see if this serves as a persuasive of having teams coming back as their demands includes:

    1. Institute a Valorant-style promotion and relegation between the LCS and NACL.

    2. Riot commits to a revenue pool for player salaries of $300K USD per NACL team per year.

    3. Allow LCS organizations to partner with affiliates for cost-sharing.

    4. Riot guarantees LCS minimum contracts for the following year for the 5 players who win the LCS summer finals each year.

    5. Institute a 3/5's roster continuity rule to provide players on released NACL rosters 1st priority in maintaining their slots in the upcoming NACL season if a majority continue to compete together.

  • Being a chronically ill and disabled streamer is so very hard.
So much harder than anyone realises.
All because I am trying to earn money for food and heat as someone chronically ill, disabled and living on a poverty income of just over £300 a month (USD $240)

I am bedbound for 4 days now after a stream. Used to be 2, then 3, now 4 which is hard as I have 2 streams a week.

I am left in extreme pain and extremely fatigued due to chronic pain and chronic fatigue, both of which are severe and leave me disabled, unable to work at all.

I live in poverty on just over £300 a month, which doesn't cover rent so I have to share a house or I would be homeless.
I pay towards bills, my food and heating and that is it, but I can't even afford that on my poverty income.

Did you know that my only hope of an income is from my Twitch stream?

I never expect a penny and say that a lot. If I am lucky enough to get a sub (I struggle to get 3 a month) I am close to tears as I am that grateful.

I rarely get more than $3-$7 a month on Twitch, even after nearly 4 years of streaming.
This is because I can't promote myself enough, nor network as I am literally in bed recovering when not streaming.

I guess the story is to say that you don't know how hard it is for some of us to stream.

I do this as a job and said that since day 1. I also say all the time I don't expect a penny, but if you do support me, you are putting food on the table and allowing me heating. Both I can't afford enough of (no heat at all) due to poverty.

It is a million times harder for me to stream than someone who isn't chronically ill, and it is a billion times harder to get viewers as I can't do the things you need to, to grow on Twitch.

If you want to support me, I have a list of ways you can, from FREE to paid: https://ko-fi.com/post/Support-Me--SirenHellVixen-Z8Z3GOCJ7
