After a rocky launch and Year 1 of Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts definitely wants to move quickly on what is next for its first-person shooter intellectual property and while some details are remaining hidden, we got news.
At least is not good for DICE as Electronic Arts announced that a new game for Battlefield wil, be in development by Ridgeline Games, a gaming studios based in Seattle founded by ex-Bungie and Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, composed of industry veterans from around the world.
Particularly, Ridgeline Games will have the task of a narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe.
The press release does not confirm what (if any) role DICE in the next game or when we can expect the game, but yes, this "free time" for DICE regarding a new Battlefield game I dare to speculate that has to do with the performance in general of Battlefield 2042.
