Bayonetta 3 is one of the most awaited games from fans of the Sega’s franchise that was inspired by the popularity of Devil May Cry (his original director & designer is part of the staff) and while it is believed that nothing else can get in the way, Bayonetta’s original actress might urge you not to support this game.

During the weekend, Hellena Taylor called out Platinum Games after justifying why she did not play Bayonetta this time and all apparently is that she felt disrespected for the low $4000 offered to reprise her role, as she got the crafting and preparation, felt the amount of money was under value her talent.

Her revelation comes after Platinum Games acknowledged to Game Informer that Jennifer Hale (best known for voicing Naomi Hunter of Metal Gear Solid), was selected after “various overlapping circumstances made it difficult” to bring Taylor back.

Also feeling disrespected, Taylor claims that lack of transparency also led to her decision to go public about her not playing Bayonetta.

Hellena Taylor is known for many participantions at TV Series and after the New Millenium, she focused on voiceover and gaming directly she has a big parts including playing a NPC at the game version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Phiona of Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume and many NPCs of Dragon Age: Origins.

She got the attention of Platinum Games all right

Hideki Kamiya, Game Designer and Director Of Bayonnetta, issued the tweet a little after Hellena Taylor’s complaint.

While not specifically naming here, it is well speculated that this was an indirect response and while the gaming community responded negatively on his implicit claim that Taylor’s claim are not true, he deactivated for a while his Twitter account until early this week in hopes that things have calmed but had said that he will not tolerated being harassed and will be blocking people no question asked.

Interesting to see how this develops in terms of the everlasting struggles of voice actors looking for fair pay but I must enforce that IS NOT OK to harass people in this kind of situation.

Jennifer Hale make a statement

Evidently Jennifer Hale got caught in the middle and while acknowledging that she is under an NDA after accepting to play Bayonetta's voice, she leave the space that this become again a topic for discussion if is time again to verify the salaries of voiceover actors.
