To jumpstart the week, Riot Games made a surprising announcement that the studio for free-to-play games like League Of Legends and its spinoff along with Valorant, had made a high profile purchase.
Today, Rio Games announced that they have entered into an agreement with Wargaming to acquire their Australian branch Wargaming Sydney with an undisclosed amount of money.
Wargaming Sydney is part of the studios of the company Wargaming, creators and publisher of games like World of Tanks and World of Warships.
Reportedly, Wargaming Sydney is one of the largest games studios in Australia, formed under its original name of BigWorld back in 2002 and it was its talented people and breakthrough tools that enabled the creation of popular MMOs that originally called the attention of Wargaming.
Rio Games confirmed that it will retain the talent and will rebrand the studios as Riot Sydney and will serve as an extension of the developmental team for League Of Legends and Valorant, including that it will be a key contributor to its network of development studios.
