It is not a full month since Square Enix Montreal, a former Square Enix Western studio sold to Embracer Group, announced a restructuring to erase its past with Square Enix under the name of Onma and seems that it was not meant to be.

As per Bloomberg, Embracer Group is liquidating Onoma in general and while it plans to retain some of its staff, they will go under Eidos Montreal, another former western Square Enix studio bought by Embracer too.

Also, sources told Jason Schreier, that Eidos Montreal had some restructuring of its own having canceled a next major game and repurposing effort with an association with Xbox Game Studios for a Fable related title.

The canceled game was a kids in bike-kind of game inspired by the early seasons of Stranger Things and now, they are also working on a new original IP which details will probably become available for next year.

Finally, Eidos is going to revive the Deus Ex franchise and the project is in early development so don’t get hop on getting a new Deus Ex game soon.
