Some may see that CD Projekt Red is not catching a break by judging the initial reception of the next-gen update of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and taking the soured 2 years since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, we have to talk a little about the PC side of things.
Unfortunately since the launching of the next-gen version of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, people noticing issues have been a constant in ALL PLATFORMS, but PC seems to be the main focus of problems.
Via their official forum, CD Projekt Red announced that the focus of patches being developed for the game includes the four main issues affecting the PC version which are described as:
- General Game Crashes
While they are looking at things here, CD Projekt Red recommends that GPU and graphics chipset be updated as a first step of troubleshooting before engaging with support. - Players who own the game on Origin are unable to update the game.
- Low Ray Tracing performance on Intel GPUs.
Basically the same thing with GPU, users needs to check if DirectX12 is completely updated and functional before delegating to support about ray tracing performance problems - PlayStation 5 versions of the expansions are unavailable in some regions.
Finally, CD Projekt confirmed that they needed to temporarily rollback the update on GOG and Steam to verify and correct all they can fix to have them re-deployed back on both PC games stores.
