Asus surprised gamers when back on April 1, the gaming device handheld that was thought to be an April's Fool joke was actually NOT A JOKE and after more than a month, finally we got the full details of what is behind the Asus ROG Ally and already available for preorder.

Pretty much as suspected, the Asus ROG Ally is more than just an Steam Deck competitor as it can be a gaming computer on the go with specs including a 7-inch LCD Display, Full HD (1920x1080), 120Hz refresh rate, touch and all that covered on a Gorilla Glass Victus as a welcomed surprise.

Other specs include AMD RDNA 3-based graphics GPU, 16GB LPDDR5-6400, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and full Windows 11 as Operating System.

As for the CPU and GPU setup will be the main differentiation as the $699 Asus ROG Ally build will include a Ryzen Z1 with 6 core and 12 thread clocking up to 4.9 GHz and the APU built with graphic processor can have the Ally deliver up to 2.8 Teraflops which is already higher than the 1.6 Teraflops that Steam Deck can offer.

The Ryzen Z1 Extreme variant will have the Asus Rog Ally add the cost with $100 but will give you 8-core/16-thread (up to 5.1 GHz boost) and a whopping 8.6 Teraflops with the so-called Turbo Mode which is a unique feature on AMD’s latest processor for handled PC.

The Asus ROG Ally OS is Windows 11, but will have its own launcher called Armoury Crate SE which is slated to be your all-in-one hub for accessing your games, no matter where is the store/platform which you have installed it, pretty much as it does with their traditional ROG PC gaming machines, but now at the reach of your hands with the ROG Ally.
