Meet Magic Soup Games and this is another studio that was founded and will be run by a former Blizzard Entertainment executive because Blizzard and Activision is no longer the classical and beloved OG Blizzard Entertainment.
Specifically, former senior executives includes Jen Oneal, J. Allen Brack and John Donham are the named founders.
Jean Oneal is the CEO of Magic Soup Games and she was executive producer at Vicarious Visions in 2008, but her careers date back on at LucasArts in the late 1990s working on the Star Wars and Indiana Jones game franchises before becoming a producer at Activision in 2003, where she produced several titles in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series.
Allen Brack was the former President of Blizzard Entertainment after his notorious exit of Blizzard side of Activision Blizzard in the middle of many scandalous accusation of Blizzard executive on toxic and sexualized workforce and while he was not accused of anything directly, he was named on one of the notorious lawsuits because of lack of effort on stopping the behavior.
He will be the head developer for future games or as he calls it, “Head-Chef”.
And finally John Donham was Blizzard Chief of Staff & VP Special Projects after leaving the Technology division of The Walt Disney Company and recently left Amazon Prime Gaming in January.
As per their introduction to VentureBeat, they are already on the pre-production phase of their first game and expects to have at least “5 chefs” for the project and jointly, said they are “drawing on decades of experience to build original AAA games that are genuinely uplifting and inclusive for players around the world”.
