Did Microsoft gain more time to obtain the endorsement of buying Activision Blizzard or is it that the European Zone will seek at any rate to have the legal guidelines to block?
Well, this immediate question is what I got as The European Commission that oversees all concerns of Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard for almost $69 billion has announced that it will reach its decision on May 22.
This is almost a full month later than the operational scheduled April 25th meeting.
Evidently, the recents announcement of Microsoft reaching official deals with Call Of Duty availability, including a Cloud Gaming platform, has changed the game.
Microsoft reacted to Reuters saying:
“We have stood behind our promise to bring Call of Duty to more gamers on more devices by entering into agreements to bring the game to the Nintendo console and cloud game streaming services offered by Nvidia, Boosteroid, and Ubitus.
We are now backing up that promise with binding commitments to the European Commission, which will ensure that this deal benefits gamers into the future.”
Related to the acquisition, I would like to include the note that this week, a reply from 6 independent gaming studios have recommended to the UK regulator to approve the transaction in a big blow to Sony's dire scenario for gaming competition narrative.
