Since February, Microsoft have been testing an Xbox firmware for both Xbox One and the Xbox Series S/X capacity on bee green by going energy saving option as the default energy option for the consoles.

It is now in April that the full stable release of the functionality will go live for all Xbox One and the Xbox Series S/X consoles and the update is starting to be deployed this very week.

Expect your Xbox console to automatically be placed in the Shutdown (energy saving) power option, which Microsoft said cuts power use by up to 20x when consoles are off compared to Sleep and will try to schedule console updates at times when a larger proportion of electricity is coming from lower-carbon sources on the electric grid.

Microsoft claims that these options will help you decrease fossil fuel dependency and CO2 emissions and could potentially save you money.

Also, players will be able to hide game art when selecting tiles on the Xbox home screen and while I think that dynamic imaging will actually help you conserve the life of your monitor or LED TV.

Along with the energy saving options by default, Xbox also gains a new Search Experience, where users will now see a more accurate Search results including a sleek new look, gallery-style results, visible filter categories navigable with RB/LB, the option to “search on YouTube” within the Movies & TV tab, and more.
