We are once again in earning reports seasons and I am making a great effort to document everyone that I can get on my radar. We can safely start with Koei Tecmo as the Japanese giant already has shared some numbers on their recent releases.
Koei Tecmo released their Fiscal Year 2022 results (translated form Push Square) which the main metrics were the Revenue and Net profit which respectively were (in US Dollar equivalent) $584.3 Million, a positive 7.8% year over year and $230.5 million or a -12.5% year over year.
It makes sense that they needed to boost the success and early adoption of both Wild Hearts and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
While there are no exact metrics yet, Wild Hearts is their response to Capcom’s Monster Hunter and was a joint venture with Electronic Arts having the game being launched on the indie published side of EA which guaranteed a major cut for game earnings.
In the case of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, early reviews have the game being average good, but could have been better considering that the game got a Game Pass Day 1 release.
Other than that, the release does includes of other available titles and are as follow.: Atelier Ryza 3 sold 290k copies globally, Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse sold 120k and Winning Post 10 sold 70k in Japan.
