Playstation maker and japanese conglomerate veteran Sony took its turn to make quarterly reports and while evidently, Playstation is indeed one of its main businesses, evidently is not necessarily that Playstation being positive, means that the company is.

Sony posted their Fiscal Year results including numbers from its Q4 of the current fiscal year with revenue in a US dollar equivalent of $8.96 billion, an increase of 0.5% compared to last year.

$2.1 billion came from Sony Music with an +9% increase over the year with $192.9 million this quarter alone.

Another big highlight was its chip and camera sensor business.

As for the Playstation, while Sony still struggles with demand, the Japanese veteran has managed to ship 38 million Playstation 5 consoles with 6 million are for this past quarter, breaking the 3 million in one quarter record of Playstation 4 in 2014.

Sony’s Game & Network Services division reported FY22 Q4 revenues of ¥1073.19 billion ($7.9 billion), up 61% year-over-year.

PlayStation Plus users hit 47.4 million in Q4, which was flat year-over-year but the highest total before the entrance of the PS Plus tiers.
