The name of Shueisha is well known in Japan and all the manga fandom, as the publisher of Weekly Jump and hence, the iconics series turned into anime like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Hunter × Hunter, Fist of the North Start, Slam Dunk, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball.
Now how would Shueisha Games sound as a new project?
Well, according to Famitsu it is a reality and Shueisha Games was founded in a joint venture with Masami Yamamoto, formerly of the Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio, who will serve as the General Manager.
The concept is a follow-up from last year’s Shueisha Game Creators Camp, which was a project designed to support indie game creators and while it remains to see what this means for Bandai Namco, the usual publisher for most anime-related gaming, Shueisha Games seems like to operate as an associate rather being completely organically.
Already announced is a Smartphone game with an original story with artists from Weekly Jump doing the visual design but no target dates were given.
