Today Ubisoft decided to take a turn to make their earnings reports and Fiscal Year 2023 full result and in summary, it is not good and it seems that things will begin to tighten for current and future projects.
Ubisoft reported today an historic operating loss of $550.6 million that closed the Fiscal Year 2023 and pretty much many months to come with a challenge between game newly announced and games previously announced and delayed.
Also, Ubisoft acknowledged that had a 700 of employees dropped due accepting a settlement to have their job terminated due cost cut which 80% has taken the agreement and costing around 200 million dollars.
Despite all this, CEO Yves Guillemot said that they are increasing the staff assigned to Assassin’s Creed games as you recall last year, Ubisoft is working on many Assassin’s Creed games, being Assassin’s Creed Mirage the next main title.
“As part of our progressive reallocation of resources, we notably plan to increase the number of talents working on the Assassin’s Creed brand by 40% over the coming years.”
chief financial officer Frédérick Duguet said around 2,000 developers are currently working on Assassin’s Creed, out of a total workforce of about 20,000.
The number is therefore expected to rise to around 2,800 over the coming years, with the increased headcount achieved by reallocating people from other franchises.
As far as today, Ubisoft have confirmed working on the following games that are slated to be released until the end of Fiscal Year 2024 (End of March 2024):

- Rainbow 6 Mobile
- Division Resurgence
- Skull & Bones
- The Crew: Motorfest
- Xdefiant
- "Another Large Game"
