Corporate news time and I wanted to make two articles in one this time as there is two new news regarding former talents landing news jobs and the founding of a new studios, but first, another win for Netflix.

It seems that Santa Monica Studio former Art Director Raf Grassetti didn’t wait much for returning to work in the gaming industry, but this time for Netflix and its gaming venture Netflix Games.

Grassetti served as Art Director for God Of War series in Santa Monica Studio as part of the Playstation Studios family, but also worked on Infamous series and on EA, worked with games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

This is a big win for Netflix and thanks to former Halo executive Joseph Staten who personally managed the hiring of GRassetti and this will be for the in-development original AAA game under the Netflix Games banner.

Meanwhile, another set of  former members of The Witcher III and Cyberpunk 2077 landed a job in a newly founded studio called Blank., and yes, the period is part of the name.

Blank. was founded by Mateusz Kanik woh served as game director of Cyberpunk 2077 and co-game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Upper management includes Witcher and Cyberpunk executive producers, Jędrzej Mróz and Marcin Jefimow.

They are based in Poland.

There are not much details on what their first game but they shared:

“Currently, we are working on a character driven story from an apocalypse — with a twist or two.

We’ve had our share of creating huge, super complicated games with open worlds. That’s why we focus on simpler goals — uniqueness, emotions, quality, and refinement.”
