It seems that Season 3 of Halo Infinite is the last time we will see a lore cutscenes that describe the things behind multiplayer activities, but of course, because 343 Industrie now doesn’t have enough staff to properly work on them.

Maybe as you read this, you already received an update on the Halo Waypoint blog with details on Halo Infinite Season 4, but community director Brian Jarrard has something else to add.

The Halo Infinite Multiplayer began featuring a story from Season 2 where you own a version of a Spartan in the middle of humanity’s war against the Banished.

As you discover long-buried secrets, including one of the Banished’s most fiendish innovations, your victories and accomplishments in these pivotal events will pave a new path for a new generation of Spartans, ensuring the pack will endure.

It is already documented all the effects that Microsoft layoff of 2023 provoked on 343 Industries beside this new event, including the cancellation on the not-so-promised Halo Infinite expansion, delegating more outsourcing for helping 343 Industries’s main Halo team and that future Halo works will now be with Unreal Engine 5.
