Already in the second half of 2023 two main gaming showcases are left for this year and they are Gamescom 2023 and Tokyo Game Show 2023 where publisher and gaming studios will have their final opportunities to show us what we are expecting for this year and next year, 2024.

Let’s start with the news for Gamescom 2023, which will be held from August 23 through August 27 and the main keynote taking place on the first day.

While things has been slow on news for the event taking place on Germany, organizer did confirmed that Xbox and Bethesda will have a turn on the keynote main stage and probably this means that we are bound for more Starfield news which is pretty good news in my opinion as probably Bethesda is locked on releasing the game by September 6, 2023.

Of course, having the stage also means that there have to be more announcements.

Sony confirmed that it will not have any kind of presence at the event, pretty much having the gaming community questioning if the past edition of Playstation Showcase 2023 was all the company has to offer.

Meanwhile for Tokyo Game Show 2023, organizers are also starting their engines, declaring that this year’s event will be a big one.

Not only they are returning to its traditional venue the Makuhari Messe for the first time since the pandemic in full capacity (last year was a controlled physical event with limited space), but already have confirmed Bandai Namco, Capcom, HoyoVerse, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Level 5, Xbox, Sega / Atlus, and Square Enix as exhibitor.

There are special cases like Kojima Productions, which will be present in the merchandise area, while PlayStation will be present in the indie area only and finally, Nintendo will have business meetings at the show, but no public area.

Organizers claim that going full-scale and not going for physical restriction due the pandemic as a result of a high evaluation of the exhibition by exhibitors and visitors alike justified the high demand for a fully fledged event.

Tokyo Game Show 2023 will be held for four days from Thursday, September 21 to Sunday, September 24, with a Business Day and Public Day.
