The past weekend marked a pleasant surprise and coinciding with Tekken 3’s 25 anniversary and Netflix with Bandai Namco, announced a new anime series based on the veteran fighting IP from the original Namco.
Somewhere this year, Netflix will premier Tekken: Bloodline, a new anime series based on the events previous, during and probably after Tekken 3, when a young Jin Kazama seeks his estranged grandfather Heihachi Mishima after he and his mother Jun Kazama, where attacked by a demon (which back in 1997 we met as Ogre) and Jun was nowhere to be seen in the aftermath.
I mentioned “probably future” as during the trailer I could distinguish Leroy, an original character from Tekken 7 and probably the attempt here is to go at least to the present days of Tekken lore.
There was no mention when exactly this year Tekken: Bloodline would be appearing on the popular streaming service.
I hope that this will be a great production, not like the former OVA (Original Video Anime) known on our side of the world as Tekken Motion Picture which was a little embarrassing as a fan of Tekken that I am.
