The launch weekend of the newest The Legend Of Zelda game can be anything at this point, but for Nintendo, if The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is the beginning of the last ride of Nintendo Switch, they started well.

Nintendo announced that since launch and arriving at the third day of launch, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has already sold 10 million copies, a historic record not only for Nintendo Switch,, but also The Legend Of Zelda as a franchise.

To have some perspective, its predecessor The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild took over from The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess 6 years ago with 29 million as of early 2023 meanwhile Twilight Princess with its 8.6 million copies took over the Ocarina Of Time record of 7.6 million copies.

It is easy to say that The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom will over take all mentioned game by the end of the year as much special editions, including Collector’s Edition are still awaiting to be shipped and there are reports that Nintendo made enough quantities to ensure most gamers gets the opportunity to own one.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom became the 6th game for a perfect Famitsu score

Already believed that a 40/40 score on japanese famous magazine Famitsu is a rare thing, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom became the 6th game in 30 YEARS to achieve it.

Famitsu’s The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom review with perfect score joins the now 6th game with perfect score list and includes:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Bayonetta
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

It has been known that Famitsu reviewers are quite picky about aspects of the game and games like Elden Ring, Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption 2 and even some Super Mario games are praised elsewhere in the world, but haven’t managed to have a perfect score with Famitsu.
