In Japan, Square Enix really got to the upper level in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of Kingdom Hearts (gosh, I remember the hype back then like it was yesterday, my old me…).

Surprisingly, the japanese veteran announced that Kingdom Hearts IV was in active development when many thought that Kingdom Hearts III was the final chapter and hence, the final association with Square Enix and Disney.

But before the trailer, Square Enix announced that new traditional RPG Kingdom Hearts game called Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road for Mobile (previously announced) will finally release by August and a new entry on the Kingdom Hearts game collection, a solo for Mobile is Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link which is an original story (probably another prequel to the main lore) and will have a closed Beta this year.

Finally at mark 4:09, the official announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV that included an in-game engine battle scene with Sora waking apparently after being 7 days unconscious on a city called Quadratum, that it is immediately attacked by the notorious Heartless, Darkside.

Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy seem to be at the search of Sora and are found by a mysterious character that appears to attack or scared them.

The game will begin a “The Lost Master” Arc and remains to see if this is the beginning of a new set of games or this will be just for this game.

As it is as usual with Square Enix, no target date/year for release was offered but it is obvious that the game is Playstation 5 bound.
