In an update after revealing a redesigned PS Plus with tiers to respond to Xbox Game Pass, Sony with Playstation aims that everything goes seamless and without much unexpected troubles and has some new features for us.
PS Plus tiers for Playstation users will reach our side of the world (Americas) by June 13 of this year, converting all under the PS Plus Essential if we don’t make any changes.
For a recap, the tiers are:
- PS Plus Essential ($9.99 monthly/$59.99 yearly) - Multiplayer access, two monthly downloadable games, discounts, and cloud storage for game saves…Hence as currently the service is today and I am glad is not being labeled as “legacy” and to be honest, I was expecting a “We are Sony, you are with us or you are against us” attitude that would limit and force people on getting on the other tiers.
- PS Plus Extra ($14.99 monthly/$99.99)- All Essential offering + 400 games that includes PS4 and PS5 titles.
- PS Plus Premium ($17.99 monthly/$119.99 yearly) - All Extra offering + 340 additional games between PS3, PS2, original Playstation and PSP that can be downloaded and be played vía streaming and the PS3 games will only be Streaming.
Pretty much from the original announcement remains the same except that now for the PS Plus Premium will be reaching more markets than originally announced and still apply a special tier that is in the middle of Extra and Premium, where gaming streaming is not possible.
Are you staying on Essential or which tier are you moving?
