The Game Developers Conference is on and there have been some announcements all right from some gaming companies like Ubisoft, Unity and Roblox embracing more AI than usual, but definitely the event was featured by Epic Games and what is the future of Unreal Engine.

“Electric Dreams” demo presents Un real Engine 5.2 Early Build

The next main version of Unreal Engine is in development and game/graphics makers can already test a preliminary version and to showcase the capabilities of version 5.2, there is the “Electric Dreams” demo that features a Rivian EV pickup.

MetaHumans is what Snap Camera should have evolved to

Epic Games presented what would be an application that lets you simulate the meta you in a probable metaverse and in this demo, there is a face based on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II where you can control face faction and amazing accuracy for not being a complete work.

The MetaHumans project is something that Epic Games have been working on since 2021.

Unreal Editor for Fortnite and 40% cut to Fortnite creators goes official

Epic’s new Unreal Editor for Fortnite, which will give creators a bunch of new tools to create custom Fortnite maps and experiences. In a demo, the company showed off some bright Fortnite characters in a gritty, distinctly non-Fortnite-y world.

Also, Epic announced a major change to the way creators can make money from Fortnite, promising that 40 percent of the game’s net revenues will be put back into a pool for creators. Interestingly, that pool includes Epic itself.

Fab will be the one to rule them all in assets marketplace

Unreal Engine Marketplace, Quixel Bridge, ArtStation Marketplace, and Sketchfab will all be merged into one marketplace, Fab.
