Wanted to dive in in a classical The Elder Scrolls game but you don’t want to do the steps needed that your 2020’s computer can play 90’s games When Bethesda purges its launcher? Well Bethesda just went ahead with that via Steam.

In preparation for the elimination of its PC Launcher, Bethesda is now offering as a Free-To-Play the original The Elder Scrolls first two games, The Elder Scrolls: Arena & The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall for free along with Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory.

Both Elder Scrolls games were respectively launched in 1994 and 1996.

In the first game, you help uncovering a conspiracy against King Uriel Septim VII, traversing across all of Tamriel and fighting through procedurally generated wilderness to complete various main and side quests and in Daggerfall, the ghost of King Lysandus is trapped on earth and it's the player's job to free him, again taking part in quests picked up from towns and cities across the game.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was developed originally to be an Expansion for Return for Castle Wolfenstein but was later launched as a stand alone, multiplayer game in 2003 and the game’s code (not engine) was open source a year later.

There are also two Elder Scrolls spin-offs from the late 90s: An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, but this game has cost and was not offered as Free-To-Play, costing $6 each game.

Maybe neither of the first two Fallout games can come next Bethesda?
