World Wrestling Entertainment or simply WWE have a rich history on pro wrestling or as Vince MchMahon wants us to call it “Sport Entertainment” and videogames have been a constant part of his history.

But after a few years beginning when  WWE 2K20 failed massively to the point that WWE 2K21 was canceled and WWE 2K Battlegrounds served as a filler for last year and FINALLY WWE Games saw WWE 2K22 as successful, the former Federation wants to capitalize.

WWE’s Chief Brand Manager Stephanie MchMahon confirmed to investors in the company’s recent earnings calls, that WWE was scheduled to announce a new RPG game and announcement “will be made soon”.

McMahon indicated that WWE Games was again a priority for the Sport Entertainment giant and also that the strategy to hold for more than a year for a proper development of what is known today as WWE 2K22 and changing the launch window from the traditional Fall trimester were the key factors for the success of the game.

WWE 2K20 was plagued by constant issues that proved that the game was half-baked when released in 2019 and forced 2K Games to have the game with an EOL with less than usual post-launch content and unceremoniously disappeared from the radar.

With expectations that now rival AEW will launching a game of their own with former WWE Smackdown series developer’s Yuke Media Creation, it is safe to say that WWE are really preparing himself in case that the AEW: Fight Forever video game results in success.
